WHO'S NEXT FROM THE D-LEAGUE?

With the news that Andris Biedrins has a sports hernia and a small tear in his abdomen, it is likely that he will miss the rest of the season following surgery. The Warriors were down to only 8 players tonight vs. the Hornets and it was painfully obvious that they need a big man to help on the boards. Chris Hunter started at Center with Corey Maggette at Power Forward. The only other legitimate big man available was Anthony Tolliver because Ronny Turiaf was once again, experiencing pain in his knee and could be out for an extended period of time.

Here are the healthy Warriors....

PG: Curry
SG: Watson
SF: Morrow / Williams
PF: Maggette / George
C: Hunter / Tolliver

Warriors should consider calling up Alexander Johnson who was just named D-League Player of the Week. Johnson was some one I thought would be serviceable when he was first drafted in 2006 by the Indiana Pacers and then traded to the Grizzlies. He's a mobile, glass eating big with a developing post game. I'd like to see what he can do with Curry feeding him the ball in the post. If the Warriors call up Johnson, then Williams, George, and Tolliver can move to their natural positions and allow Johnson to backup Hunter at Center. At 6'-9", 230 lbs, he is better equip to bang in the paint and fight for rebounds.

With Alexander Johnson....
PG: Curry / Watson
SG: Morrow / Watson / Williams
SF: Maggette / Williams / Morrow / George
PF: Tolliver / Maggette / George / Johnson
C: Hunter / Johnson / Tolliver

Another good call-up candidate would be Dwayne Jones.

Rebound battle for the last 5 games:
Hornets 44, Warriors 23
Bobcats 60, Warriors 36
Hawks 47, Warriors 39
Magic 58, Warriors 29
Heat 50, Warriors 35

Astonishingly bad.
